Commercial Linen & Laundry FAQ

Answers to common operational questions regarding contract terms, par stock buffers, wash standards, and delivery schedules.

Service Options & Stock Management

What is the difference between Linen Hire and Commercial Laundry (COG)?

With Commercial Linen Hire (Rental), we supply all the bed linen, towels, and tablecloths from our own inventory. You have zero upfront purchase costs, and we replace worn items automatically. With Commercial Laundry (Customer-Owned Goods / COG), you supply your own linen stock, and we wash, sanitize, iron, and return your exact items in segregated batches.

How does par stock management work for hotels and holiday lets?

Par stock ensures you never run out of clean linen during changeover days. Typically, we maintain a 3-par system: 1 set in active use on guest beds/tables, 1 set clean and ready in your linen store cupboard, and 1 set in transit or undergoing washing at our Loughborough plant.

Can we inspect sample linen before committing to a contract?

Yes. We regularly supply sample bedsheets, duvet covers, towels, and tablecloths directly to your property so your general manager, head housekeeper, or head chef can inspect fabric density, finish, and feel.

How easy is it to switch laundry suppliers with Saif Linen Hire?

We make switching straightforward with zero operational downtime. We coordinate start dates to coincide with your outgoing supplier's final collection, delivering fresh par stock ahead of time so your housekeeping team continues without missing a beat.

Washing, Hygiene & Ironing Standards

What washing and hygiene temperatures do you use?

All commercial laundry undergoes thermal and chemical disinfection cycles compliant with UK hospitality hygiene benchmarks. Our wash programs reach temperatures exceeding 65°C to 71°C to kill bacteria, viruses, and dust mites while breaking down grease and body oils.

How are bedsheets and tablecloths ironed?

Bedding and table linen are processed through high-temperature industrial rotary ironers (flatwork ironers). This gives them a smooth, crisp, crease-free finish that cannot be replicated by domestic or on-premise laundry equipment.

Can you remove heavy restaurant grease and wine stains?

Yes. We formulate wash recipes with industrial emulsifiers and stain lifting agents designed specifically for commercial catering—tackling olive oil, animal fats, red wine, curry, and coffee stains.

Do you launder chef whites and kitchen workwear?

Yes. We wash chef jackets, kitchen trousers, and catering aprons using heavy-soil cycles that remove grease and carbon build-up while preserving buttons and press studs.

Delivery Logistics & Operating Areas

Which areas do you deliver commercial linen to?

Operating from our central facility at Unit 3 Hanford Way, Loughborough, our delivery fleet runs scheduled routes across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Sheffield, Essex, and selected Greater London commercial corridors.

What delivery frequency is available for our venue?

We offer daily collections, 2–3 visits per week, weekly rounds, or fortnightly scheduled collections depending on your room capacity and turnover volume.

What happens if we experience an unexpected surge in bookings?

Our customer service desk coordinates emergency top-up stock. Because our laundry plant is centrally located in Loughborough, we can rapidly dispatch additional linen or arrange direct depot collection.

Can local Loughborough businesses collect linen directly from the depot?

Yes. Contract clients in Loughborough and Charnwood are welcome to collect emergency top-ups or drop off customer-owned items directly at Unit 3 Hanford Way by prior arrangement.

Pricing & Contract Setup

How do you calculate commercial linen pricing?

Pricing is transparent and based on your item requirements, weekly volumes, and delivery frequency. Hired linen is charged on a simple per-item rotation fee with no hidden replenishment penalties.

How quickly can we start service once a quote is approved?

Once we agree on your par levels and delivery schedule, service can typically begin within 24–72 hours depending on stock allocation.
